OverDrive has released two pieces of news, one related to their OMC app and the other related to a major format change.
First, OverDrive announced new versions of OverDrive Media Console (OMC) for Windows. Both the classic desktop version of OMC for Windows and the Windows 8 app have been updated to provide a better user experience and improved performance. OMC 3.3 for Windows (the classic desktop version) includes some design updates and support for integration with OMC 3 for Windows 8. The second bit of news is OverDrive has announced a plan for audiobooks to be solely available in the MP3 format. This won’t happen immediately as OverDrive will need to work the the publishers, libraries and schools to roll this out. We will keep you posted as this change develops.
