Previous Update

Thanks to all of you who have made pledges for our holiday OverDrive e-book drive.  It’s been a great response!

We have commitments so far from…

  • Winnefox
  • Northern Waters
  • La Crosse Public Library
  • Kenosha Public Library System
  • Milwaukee County (system and libraries)
  • South Central

Total commitments are close to $20,000!!!

If you’d like to join the e-book party, just let me know.    SCLS can either bill your library/system for the amount or you can send us a check.  We’ll be doing bills next week so you’ll be sure to have them before the end of the year.

<Original posting>

As you know, one of the hot Christmas items this year will be e-book readers.  Wouldn’t it be great if all the owners of those shiny new readers could get content from the WPLC OverDrive collection??  We think so, too!

The Selection Committee placed an order for $19,508.21 of content this week, much of it e-books.  But we would still like to add more content before the 25th.

That’s where the challenge comes in: Winnefox and SCLS have committed to contributing $2,000-$3,000 each to add more content before the end of the year.

Now we’re asking for your help:  If all the systems could contribute something to this effort, we could add a significant number of e-books to the collection.  Let me know how much your system can contribute.  Any pledges for contributions made by Friday, December 17th will be spent on an e-book purchase the week of the 20th.
