Governance

Each library system is a partner in the WPLC and has one seat on the WPLC Board, which serves as the main governance body.  The Digital Library Steering Committee (DLSC), which is composed mostly of member library representatives from the public library systems, is charged with managing the operation of the Wisconsin Digital Library.

There are three subcommittees that fall under the DLSC.  The Vendor Selection Committee considers new market options for e-content, including ebook and magazine products.  The Selection Committee is charged with choosing and buying content for the digital library collection as well as reviewing and updating the selection policy.  The Open Content Committee investigates and pilots platform options for providing digital access to local content, such as self-published works by local authors and artists.
